Government of Nepal also allow international travelers to visit Nepal by introducing its safety protocols.

Resumption of Trekking

As per the Government announcement on Sept. 15, trekking and mountaineering activities have resumed from Oct. 17, 2020, amidst precaution and high alert. Mountain tourism protocol was earlier released by the Government to ensure that expedition teams, trekkers, community members and service providers are safe in the mountains.

All the trekking regions of Nepal are open for tourist to travel but there are certain conditions should fulfill by international travelers during their Nepal visa approval. Please read bewlo about the Nepal Tourist Visa. 

Resumption of Climbing Permits

All expeditions were totally stopped in the country since March 24. With permits for fall expeditions, the Government has certainly reassured concerns of the mountaineering community and tourism sector about Nepal’s resumption of expeditions at the earliest possible.

The Department of Tourism (DoT) has granted climbing permits to Mt. Baruntse – 7,129 m, in the eastern Himalayas, to a 6-member team of young Nepali climbers on Sept. 4. The team that has already flown out to Lukla is set to acclimatize at Mera Peak before trekking to the base camp of Mt. Baruntse. As per their statement, they hope to reach the summit of Baruntse by Oct. 15.

Similarly, an 18-member team of Bahrain military expedition from its Royal Guard has been given permission to fly to Nepal for an expedition to Mt. Manaslu – 8,163 m, the 8th highest peak in the world. The permit has not been given yet, but the team has arrived in Kathmandu just today

Resumption of Nepal Tourist Visa

The Department of Immigration has resumed its visa services from July 2021. Visa will be regulated as per prior notice from the Department of Immigration. You will get Tourist Visa on arrival at Tribuwan International Airport of Kathmandu for those who come by air. On-arrival visas are not granted for tourists coming overland from india.

How can i Get on arrival Nepal Visa during Covid-19?

All tourists entering Nepal by air must possess the following documents:

  1. PCR negative report taken before 72 hours of boarding OR document showing complete vaccination against COVID-19;
  2. Visa to Nepal OR recommendation letter from the Department of Tourism or Nepal Tourism Board to participate in tourism activities within Nepal;
  3. Hotel booking confirmation or guarantee of accommodation;
  4. Proof of Travel Insurance which covers emergency search, rescue, treatment, among others, for the duration of their travel; and
  5. Barcode generated from the online application of the Online International Travel Arrival Form.

How can i obtain Recommendation letter from Department of Nepal Tourism Board or Immigration?

Prior to arrival you need to collect following documents and mail us. We will prepard the recomandation letter of Nepal Immigartion which is only authorize to process from the registered trekking agency. 

  1. Your flight tinerary to Nepal 
  2. Your Travel insurance (must covered evacuation upto 6000 meters)
  3. Hotel Booking (we can provide if needed)
  4. Clear Photo of your valid Passport 

During your arrival to Kathmandu airport you need to bring your recomandation letter of Nepal immigartion and Covid checked Negative report on printed paper. If you are vaccinated then don't forget to bring your vaccinated card.
