The Upper Mustang Helicopter Tour will take you to the heart of Lo Kingdom, where you will experience a unique structured and culturally rich region that lies within the western part of Nepal. The local culture and lifestyle are 90 Percent almost like the Tibetans. It is an ancient valley generally considered untouched and culturally preserved. Lo-Manthang is the capital city of Lo kingdom since the first king, Ama Pal. Because of the remote and unique landscpe, a helicopter tour to upper Mustang becomes productive to explore this beautiful valley which reflects the vibes of Tibet.

Mustang region of Nepal is opened for foreigners in 1992 A.D. It covers several popular trekking routes: Jomsom Muktinath, Damodar Kunda. The views are stunning of the Kali Gandaki River and its gaps along with the scattered ethnic settlements by the river. The Heli tour offers the snow-peaked mountain views of Annapurna Massif, Mount Dhaulagiri, Manaslu Range, and Tukuche Peaks. Mustang Helicopter tour maybe a deserted landscape of Nepal but a makes your trip a different experience. People believe in Buddhism, here are several oldest monasteries. On this trip, we take a flight (domestic flight) from Kathmandu to Pokhara and back to Kathmandu. Heli tour starts from Pokhara and ends at Pokhara.

Outline Itinerary ( 1 Days )

Day 1

Heli Tour to Lo-Manthang starts from Pokhara.

We will come to your hotel to pick and drop you at Pokhara airport around 8 am. This spectacular Mountain Flight will take you close to the view of Fishtail, Annapurna South, Hieunchuli, Nilgiri, Tukche peak, and Dhaulagiri. Heli will stop at Jomsom for fueling. This is one of the major attractions of this trip whereby we get amazing aerial views of Mustang’s exceptional landscape. We reach Lo Manthang, a walled city of the ancient Lo kingdom and you will land in front of Mustang Royal Resort. In the afternoon you will explore the uncommon beauty of the town with your guide. There will be Three Main Gonpa (local name for Monastry), Chode Gonpa, Jyampa Gonpa, and Thukje Gonpa which two of them are built for 13 centuries. Our guide will escort you Lo King’s palace which lies in the heart of the city.

Fly back to Pokhara by Helicopter  (820m)

While in returning back to Pokhara you will see the mesmerizing landscape of upper Mustang, Kaligandaki George (World deepest George), and Annapurna panoramic view. In Pokhara, our guide will drop you in  Hotel. The afternoon will be touring around Phewa Lake and relaxation.

Frequently Asked Question

The most important consideration for any tour is staying warm and dry, lightweight, breathable, moisture-winking under layers are highly recommended. Insulating layers and jackets are necessary. Comfortable shoes, quality socks (quality socks are recommended), and head covering (insulating caps and brimmed caps designed to block sunlight) are essential. Outer layers should be made of waterproof, wind-blocking material such as Gore-Tex. Sunglasses and sun-block cream, drinking water bottles, and other personal necessities.
