Ghorepani Poonhill Trek Overview
The 6-day Ghorepani Poonhill Trek begins with your arrival in Kathmandu, where you'll enjoy a day of sightseeing and preparation for the trek. After a flight to Pokhara, you'll drive to Hille and start your trek to Ulleri, passing through charming villages and lush forests. Over the next few days, you’ll continue to Ghorepani, where you'll take in breathtaking views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. The highlight of the trek is the early morning hike to Poonhill for stunning sunrise views. On your return, you’ll trek through Ghandruk, a lovely Gurung village, before heading back to Pokhara and flying back to Kathmandu. The itinerary features scenic drives, moderate treks, comfortable teahouses, and cultural experiences, making it an ideal option for those with limited time who still want to experience the beauty of the Himalayas.

Outline Itinerary ( 7 Days )

Day 1

Arrival to Kathmandu

Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be welcomed by a representative of the Himalayan Wander Walkers and checked into your hotel. On this day, you will meet our trekking operator or a duie for a briefing about the entire trek. You can either rest or hang out around Thamel, a famous tourist area in Kathmandu.

Day 2

Morning Sightseeing in Kathmandu and fly to Pokhara (800m); 25 minute

Our office staff will pick you up from the hotel and escort you to the Tribhuvan International Airport. You will fly to Pokhara, around a 25-minute flight, which is 200km from Kathmandu. A beautiful valley set on the bank of Phewa Lake, Pokhara is also known for its panoramic views of Annapurna, Machapuchare (Fishtail) in the north, Dhaulagiri in the west, Lamjung Himal, and Manaslu in the east. It is smaller and much less hectic than Kathmandu which provides the perfect starting point for our trek.

Day 3

Drive to Ghandruk; 2 hour and trek to Tadapani (2630m); 3-4 hours

After breakfast at the hotel, we will begin our scenic drive from Pokhara to Ghandruk, which takes about 2 hours, passing through picturesque landscapes and charming villages. Upon arriving in Ghandruk, we will begin our trek towards Tadapani (2630m), a 3-4 hour journey along an 8-kilometer trail. There we will have our lunch break on the way. The trek offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and allows us to experience the rich local culture. Along the way, we'll pass through terraced fields, forests, and traditional Gurung villages, stopping for a break to enjoy the stunning scenery before continuing to Tadapani, where we'll spend the night. Our comfortable teahouse will provide a warm place to rest and enjoy a hot meal before we settle in for the night.

Day 4

Trek to Ghorepani (2750m); 5-6 hours

We will head towards our destination, Ghorepani. The trek will take around 6 to 7 hours to cover approximately 10 km. After breakfast around 6:30 am, we will start our trek, passing through charming villages like Banthanti and Nagethanti. The route offers enchanting sights of waterfalls, and we will walk through dense rhododendron forests, making the journey even more scenic. During the trek, we might be fortunate enough to spot wildlife like Himalayan langurs and Black bears. Upon reaching Ghorepani, we will settle into a lodge and rest for the night.

Day 5

Early morning hike to Poon Hill(3210m); 2 hours and back to Ulleri;3 hours and Drive to Pokhara; 1.5 hours

Early in the morning, you will embark on a visit to Poon Hill, located at an elevation of 3210 meters. It will take around 45 minutes to reach the top, where you can enjoy the breathtaking sunrise view and panoramic vistas of the Annapurna mountains. Afterward, you will trek back to Birethati for approximately 6 hours. From Ulleri , you will drive back to Pokhara.

Day 6

Morning Pokhara Sightseeing and Evening flight to Kathmandu; 25 minutes

Enjoy a full-day sightseeing tour of Pokhara with an expert guide and explore amazing places like Fewa Lake, Barahi Temple, David’s Fall, Gupteshwor Cave, the International Mountain Museum, and Bindahashini Temple. As Nepal's second-biggest city, Pokhara is well known for its quiet lake and astounding views of the Annapurna Mountains, including Annapurna I and VI, Annapurna South, and Macchapuchre.

Day 7

Final Departure

We are saying goodbye as your journey to Nepal comes to an end today. If you have more time you can do some shopping or sightseeing. Approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight a representative from Himalayan Wander walkers will take you to the airport. On your way home you'll have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.
