Dawa Tseten Gurung, Founder and Managing Director of Himalayan Wander Walkers, was born in Thinger Village, the Summer Palace of Mustang’s King, in the remote Himalayan belt of Upper Mustang. Growing up in the mountains, he developed a strong connection with nature and a deep respect for the culture and traditions of the Himalayas. From a young age, he worked as a porter during school vacations, gaining firsthand trekking experience and understanding the needs of travelers. Dawa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Travel & Tourism Management and is a Government-certified trekking guide, trained in the international E-ticketing system, with additional expertise in hospitality and hotel management. Over the years, he has guided treks across Nepal’s most iconic destinations, including the Everest, Annapurna, Langtang, Upper Mustang, Manaslu, and Kanchenjunga regions. His journeys also extend beyond Nepal, having trekked in the European Alps and Bhutan. Fluent in English, Nepali, Hindi, Tibetan (Himalayan Language), and basic French, Dawa brings not only professional skill but also cultural depth to his tours. As a native of the Himalayas and a speaker of the Tibetan language, he is uniquely positioned to interpret and share the rich heritage, traditions, and stories of the region with his guests. Driven by passion, experience, and local expertise, Dawa’s vision for Himalayan Wander Walkers is to offer travelers more than just treks—he aims to create authentic, memorable, and life-changing Himalayan adventures that connect people to the land, its culture, and its people.

Mr. Chaudhary was engaged in many travel and nontravel companies before starting at Himalayan Wander Walkers. At the beginning of his career, he started as a Senior Account Manager in an import/export company managing the entire team of account department. He worked as an Audit Manager for two years in NK Joshi & Co, Chartered Accountants, and handling National and Multinational clients in the field of Audit & Taxation. CA and MBS from Nepal, Mr. Chaudhary is always there for us in any financial matters.
Babu Chhiri is a licensed trekking guide with a strong passion for the mountains, often spending the off-season hiking and exploring new trails. With years of field experience, he brings valuable insight and dedication to his role as our documentation and trekking permit manager. Babu ensures all necessary permits and logistics are handled smoothly, helping trekkers enjoy a hassle-free journey while staying informed and prepared for their adventures in the Himalayas.
Yangchen Lhamo, a computer science graduate with a passion for trekking, works on our digital platform where she writes engaging content for Himalayan Wander Walkers and manages our social media presence. An avid hiker herself, she frequently explores new trails, using her firsthand experiences to create authentic and inspiring content that connects travelers with the beauty of the mountains. Combining her technical background with a love for the outdoors, Yangchen brings both creativity and insight to our digital storytelling.
Mr. Tsewang Thinley (Tibetan) was born and raised in old Tingri, home to major rivers and mountains including Mount Everest which lies 520 km away from the heart of Tibet, Lhasa. Since 1999 he started working as a trekking and tour guide in Tibet. During the last 20 years, he has guided a variety of tours such as Trekkings, Hiking, Cycling Tours, Culture, Spiritual Tours, Family Tours, Motorbike Tours with small to big groups. His decades of experience made him a Tibet tour advisor.
Khem Raj Gurung hails from Samtse, the Southern part of Bhutan and he did his early schooling from Paro. After his high school, he pursued his higher education from the Institute of Tourism & Hotel Management in Salzburg, Austria. Mr. Khem Raj Gurung has a contagious enthusiasm and his experience in a range of adventurous disciplines that ensure a successful trip for the travelers. He has an inborn talent ineffective communication and people skills and is employed with the company as the Managing Director - looking after all the travel related matters for the travelers for Bhutan. He has undergone many intensive courses in camp management; wilderness training and some of his hobbies include playing soccer, archery, and spending time on scouting new treks in Bhutan.
