Mr. Rigzin Wangyal Gurung was born in a beautiful village called Thingkar in Upper-Mustang and grew-up by playing with snow in high mountains. Completing his bachelor's degree in Tourism Management, he had started a trekking company with a team of young entrepreneurs to provide experiences to travelers who want to feel beauties of Himalayas through trekking. With his experiences as a local from Himalayas and knowledge gained from various training regarding tourism management, he is leading the Himalayan Wander Walkers trekking company as a Co-founder and the Chairman with a team of well experienced and young energetic people. He believes in “Let people discover the traveler within them by sharing the travel experiences”
Mr. Dawa Tseten Gurung is a Co-founder and the Managing Director of Himalayan Wander Walkers, born in Thinger Village (Summer Palace of Mustang King) a remote area in the Himalayan belt of Upper Mustang. Since his childhood, he was an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and willing to learn new skills. During his school vacation, he used to trek as a porter from different trekking companies. He did his Bachelor's Degree in Travel and Tourism Management. During his college, he took training on international E-ticketing system and owned a Government certified trekking guide license. He also acquired extensive work experience in the field of Hospitality and experience in hotel management. He is a professional trekking guide who had trekked in many trekking areas like Everest Region, Annapurna Region, Langtang region, Upper Mustang, Manaslu Region, and Kanchenjunga Region. Because of his experience and local expert in Himalayas trekking. He speaks fluent English, Nepali, Hindi, and Tibetan language. Being a native people of the Himalayas, he acquired a good knowledge of the Tibetan language which makes it him easy to define the pure culture of the Himalayas to the guest in depth.
Rajendra Shrestha is originally from Melung Rural municipality of Rolwaling region in Dolkha District. He is also a co founder of Himalayan Wander Walkers. He has been serving in the different travel sectors since 2013 working as tour operator and ticketing officer. He is post graduate in tourism management from Nepal College of Travel and Tourism Management and completed his Master in Business Administration from University of Kuala Lumpur. From his school life he was very much interested in tourism field and passed 'A' class trekking License in the year 2011. Since then he entered in the tourism industry. Working in tourism from small age, he has an excellent knowledge of the culture, religion and traditions of the country. He believes in motto "Goal is to die with memories not dreams". Taking statement into consideration he follow his path where his works lead and fully devoted to Himalayan Wander Walkes.
Doogii hails from a family of nomads in Western Mongolia. She graduated from the National University of Mongolia with a degree in Linguistics. In 2006, she began her career in tourism as a tour guide and early on lived with the mantra of flexibility to attend to her clients’ needs and preferences. DoogiI loves the great outdoors and is an avid adventurer who enjoys horseback riding, trekking, and mountain climbing. She firmly believes that at least once every year, people should go someplace that they’ve never been before.
Mr. Tsewang Thinley (Tibetan) was born and raised in old Tingri, home to major rivers and mountains including Mount Everest which lies 520 km away from the heart of Tibet, Lhasa. Since 1999 he started working as a trekking and tour guide in Tibet. During the last 20 years, he has guided a variety of tours such as Trekkings, Hiking, Cycling Tours, Culture, Spiritual Tours, Family Tours, Motorbike Tours with small to big groups. His decades of experience made him a Tibet tour advisor.
Khem Raj Gurung hails from Samtse, the Southern part of Bhutan and he did his early schooling from Paro. After his high school, he pursued his higher education from the Institute of Tourism & Hotel Management in Salzburg, Austria. Mr. Khem Raj Gurung has a contagious enthusiasm and his experience in a range of adventurous disciplines that ensure a successful trip for the travelers. He has an inborn talent ineffective communication and people skills and is employed with the company as the Managing Director - looking after all the travel related matters for the travelers for Bhutan. He has undergone many intensive courses in camp management; wilderness training and some of his hobbies include playing soccer, archery, and spending time on scouting new treks in Bhutan.
Mr. Chaudhary was engaged in many travel and nontravel companies before starting at Himalayan Wander Walkers. At the beginning of his career, he started as a Senior Account Manager in an import/export company managing the entire team of account department. He worked as an Audit Manager for two years in NK Joshi & Co, Chartered Accountants, and handling National and Multinational clients in the field of Audit & Taxation. CA and MBS from Nepal, Mr. Chaudhary is always there for us in any financial matters.
Mr. Wangdu Tsering was born in Tserok village of Mustang and he had travelled almost all ancient trade route within Upper-mustang. He is an oldest guide of Himalayan Wander Walkers who has excellent experience of more than 25 years in trekking sector. He has friendly personality and open-mindedness to others’ opinions and ideas. He knows his job by heart. Annapurna region, Kanchenjunga region, Manaslu region, Everest region and langtang region are the trekking destinations that he has been guiding our guests. Among above mentioned region, his favorite trekking area is an Annapurna region (Upper-mustang,Poonhill, Manang, ABC, Mardi Himal and Panchase).
Mr. Chhimi Gurung was born in an ancient walled kingdom of Lo-manthang which is the capital city of Upper Mustang. He has been engaged in guiding profession since 2010 and able to won the heart of trekking lovers from both inside and outside the country. Mr. Chhimi is a professional trekking guide with excellent knowledge of culture and tradition of Himalayas. He obtains a skill of clear communication with different guests and able to tackle the problem arises during the trek. Politeness and professional services from his heart is the key feature of his guiding. Currently he is working with Himalayan Wander Walkers team to grab opportunity through sharing and obtaining knowledge and skills from other creative team members.
Mr. Wangyal Gurung was born and raised in Lo-manthang walled city which is also known as the capital city of Lo-kingdom. He did his education from Kathmandu and got a national level trekking guide license from Nepal government. Wangyal likes to travel in different places and meet new people. Converting his passion to professional career, he has been doing guide in the Himalayas since long period. Understanding the visitor’s interest and providing the services accordingly is his unique skill to differentiate from other guides. Currently Wangyal is happy to work with Himalayan Wander Walkers team. Wangyal says, “I am really happy to introduce my birthplace Himalayas to the visitors from all over the world.”
Dawa Singhi Hyolmo was born in Helambu. He is graduated from Nepal College of Travel and Tourism with BTTM Degree. He is also a government licensed trekking and climbing Guide. His smile, big heart, wonderful sense of hospitality and friendliness is certain to swoon all who travel with him. He has also climbed many peaks and trekked in all the popular trekking areas of Nepal. He would love to share his experience throughout Himalayan journey to you. Mr. Tsering D. Gurung was born in a small village named Ghiling of Upper-mustang. Because of his passion to meeting new people and helping other in needs, he choose hospitality industry as his career base. Tsering has done a degree in tourism and get national level trekking guide license. Currently he is working with a team of Himalayan Wander Walkers and earning an excellent review from our guests. He specialized in trekking route like Upper-mustang trek, Poonhill and Ghandruk Trek, ABC Trek and Annapurna Circuit Trek. Tsering believes, “Make other happy to get happiness”.
Sudip Khadka was born in eastern region of Nepal and studied in Janakpur. Since his childhood he likes mountain. After his studies he developed an interest in adventure tourism. He took training and courses of hospitality. Finally engage in trekking sector since 2008 as a certified Trekking Guide in Nepal. Throughout his working career as Trekking Guide for over 8 years, he had earn well experience in trekking across the country, and he is very familiar with many famous Nepal trekking trails such as Annapurna, Langtang, Mustang, easy and wilderness region. He would be very pleased to share his knowledge with you.
MR. Dorjee Gyaltsen is a fully licensed, professional trekking guide since 2012. In Nepal, you need a special license issued by Nepal Government authorities to work as a tourist guide. He was born in Briddhim village in Rasuwa District of Northern Nepal. He speaks Tibetan, Nepali and English languages, studied from his elementary school in Kathmandu. He also worked as a data collector in INGO “Save the Children” for one year. He has a good Communication skill and knowledge of Himalayan Culture, but his passion has always been history and art, not only theoretically but also practically. Beside guide he is also a good cook. From 2012 an active member of Nepal Tourist guides Association. He love to share his guest his love for the art, the history and the traditions of his home town in Langtang Region, so that they can really feel it as a true local feels it. He has been guiding trekkers in Himalayas for more than 5 years. He is looking forward to meeting you in Nepal.
Mr Karsang Sherpa was born in Khumbu of Everest region. He started his trekking career since 1998 and became registered guide in 2004. He is a Nepal government certified an English language as well as Korean trekking guide. He had good reputation in our company as trekking guide. Through his decades of trekking journey, he have earn experiences of different trekking destination such as Annapurna trekking region, Mount Everest, Langtang valley, Ruby Valley, Manaslu trek, Annapurna circuit, Annapurna base camp trek, and many others. Karsang Says, “I always put my hard effort to give good information about Himalayan trails, Local cultures, flora-fauna, and Nepalese trekking tours.”
Nyima Dorjee Tamang was born in Solukhumbu, Himalayan region of Nepal. He is a certified climbing guide from Nepal Mountaineering Association of Nepal, who had submitted Everest and many more peaks throughout the Nepal. Good conversational skill with well experienced in trekking and Climbing. He love to meet with new people, exchanging each other’s culture, eagerly love to climb mountains. Therefore, he choose Climbing Guide profession and along with it, he is also a certified trekking guide, licensed from Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation. He started his profession from the root level. Currently he is walking with Himalayan Wander Walkers team.
Pasang Sherpa joined Himalayan Wander Walkers in 2019. Before that, he had already worked in different trekking companies in Nepal. He was born in a small village in the Solukhumbu district, the foothill of the Everest Region. Pikey Peak Trek is the nearest trek that lies nearby his village. We are glad to have Pasang as a trekking guide in our company who regularly worked as honest and hardworking which lead to successful treks in the Everest region, Manaslu, Mustang, and Annapurna area. Mr. Chhimek Rinzen Gurung is a professional local guide from Upper Mustang. He was born in the main city of Upper mustang, Lomanthang which is popularly known as an ancient walled city. He was raised by receiving monastic education which makes him more knowledgeable regarding the Buddhist philosophy and Buddhist culture of the Himalayas. He has years of experience guiding the tourist around the Upper Mustang showing them the ancient monasteries and explaining the culture and traditions of the Lobas people. He had chosen this occupation because he wanted to share the values and norms of culture and ancient sacred sites with the outsider. He has good communication skills to connect the outsider with the local people. The kind-hearted and polite guide, who earns an excellent review from past tourists, will help you to explore the hidden treasure of the Himalayas.
