Outline Itinerary ( 4 Days )

Day 1

Arrival and Kathmandu

Our representative will pick you from the airport and escort you to the hotel. If your flight arrival is in the afternoon then you will have the nearest sites like Swyambunath and Boudhanath Stupa. If you arrive on the morning flight then you will have Namobuddha Tour with Maha Boudha temple in Patan. Overnight at hotel with BB plan. This plan is not rigid always. Sites can be changed according to your choice of place.

Day 2

Flight to Lumbini and half day tour

After your breakfast, you will transfer to the domestic airport. Your flight will last around 30 minutes from Kathmandu to Bhairahawa airport, and then the drive about 45 minutes between Bhairahawa and Lumbini. We will drive you to your hotel in Lumbini. Later, you will be given a half-day tour of religious Buddhist monuments accompanied by a professional guide; this will be done after you have refreshed at your hotel.

Lumbini is one of the world's major religious, architectural, and historical sites. We devote our time today to visiting as many places and sites in Lumbini as possible. The place is really a big area with monuments, temples, and ancients sites making it a UNESCO World Heritage Site. First, we visit the Mayadevi temple which is built on the exact place where Buddha was born. Some of the important landmarks and monuments in Lumbini include Ashoka's Pillar erected by Emperor Ashoka (249 BC) at the spot of Buddha's birthplace which also has the oldest inscription in Nepal.

Day 3

Full day explore Lumbini

After breakfast, we start our pilgrimage. Today we will explore the monastic zone and Kapilvastu region. The monastic zone is the special area in the Lumbini which has been allocated for building monasteries, as per the master plan. The east monastic zone is dedicated to the construction of monasteries for Theravada Buddhism and the west monastic zone is dedicated to the construction of Mahayana traditional monasteries. Kapilvastu is popular for sites like Tilaurakot, Kudan and Sagarhawa. Tilaurakot is believed to be the capital of Shakya Kingdom where the Siddhartha price live till he was 29 years. The history of this kingdom remains dates back from the 4th century BC to the 2nd century AD.

Day 4

Flight back to Kathmandu and Departure

After breakfast, drive to the airport for our flight back to Kathmandu. Our representative will directly transfer you to the hotel and half-day for relaxation and shopping time. Or we can organize a short site tour at your request.  Himalayan Wander Walkers will organize a small farewell program at the airport and will help with any inconvenience that may arise during the departure.

The most important consideration for any tour is staying warm and dry, lightweight, breathable, moisture-winking under layers are highly recommended. Insulating layers and jackets are necessary.
