Many travelers do research on visa processing before planning their trip anywhere in the world. Although visa processing for many countries is similar some countries need more documents. Except for visa-free nations, all the visitors need a visa for Mongolia. To begin your visa process you need to visit the nearest Mongolian Embassy or Consulate where you need to fill the Visa Application Form. If there is no Mongolian embassy and consulate in your country then you will get a visa on arrival at Chinggis Khan International Airport. Regarding arrival, visa information is provided below. You need to submit your original passport with a photocopy, 2 3.5x4.5cm sized photos, and a Visa fee.

2. Tourist visa
*Note: You may need to submit extra documents if the visa officer asks you to prove your purpose of visiting Mongolia. A general tourist visa is allowed to stay 30 days. If you want to extend your visa then you must apply within 4 days of a valid visa.
2. Official/diplomatic visa
*Note: All the required documents must present in hard copy and the embassy will not accept the soft copies.
Travelers who don’t have a Mongolian embassy or consular in their home country will get Visa on arrival that is given only at Chinggis Khan International Airport. Those who are entering Mongolia through land borders will not get an arrival visa.
Travelers who are wishing to obtain an arrival visa in Mongolia are requested to email all the documents to the Mongolian Immigration office before their arrival time. After submitting your documents you will receive an invitation letter from the immigration office and you have to show it during your arrival at Ulaanbaatar International airport.
