The Six days Glimpse of Mongolia tour will start from the heart of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar, and take you to two different National Parks of Khustai/Hustai and Terelj National Park. Khustai National Park is the home to wild horses called Przewalski horses or Takhi. Besides that, it also offers an opportunity for outdoor lovers to explore a variety of experiences such as and bird watching, hiking, horse or camel riding, photo shooting, and visiting ancient artifacts. Terelj National park is the nearest national park from Ulaanbaatar and it is popular for a weekend picnic spot. Travelers also visit there to see the nomadic family by camping and overnight stay at traditional Ger camp.  

This trip will fill your adventure soul where you will see some historical artifacts and sites en route to the National parks. The trip starts and finishes in Ulaanbaatar. Outline Itinerary ( 6 Days )

Day 1

Arrival in Ulaanbaatar

On your arrival at Chinggis Khaan International Airport or railway station, you will assistance by Himalayan Wander Walkers’ representative. Our Guide and driver will help you to arrange your luggage in the vehicle and drive to the Hotel. Later you will have some rest at the hotel and tour briefing.

Overnight accommodation is set with BB Plan at 3* hotel.

Day 2

Short Sightseeing in UB and drive to Terelj National Park

After your breakfast checkout from your hotel drive to visit Sukhnaatar square, National history museum and Gandan monastery, Buddhist significance. After lunch, you will drive to Terelj National Park which is about 2 hours drive. On the way to the National park, we will visit the Chingis Khaan Equestrian statue that is the highest one in the world.

Overnight accommodation is set with AP Plan at nomadic family yurt (Ger Camp).

Day 3

Exploration in Terelj National Park

Today, we will visit Turtle rock that is a natural rock formation, and hike to the Ariyabal meditation temple. It takes about 1 km from the gate to the actual temple and the only way to access it is by walking. Enjoy the picturesque view overlooking the Terelj National Park while you on the top. On the same day, it is possible to do horse riding and dog sledding. It cost 10USD per person per hour for horses and about 35USD per person for 20-30minutes Dog sledding.

Day 4

Drive to Khustai National Park

Today after breakfast, you will drive to Khustai/Hustai National Park which will take about 4 hours with 180 kilometers. It lies in the foothill of southern Khenti Mountain which is popular for its wild horse, Takhi known as Przewalski horse to the world.  You will also visit a small Ger museum about the national park and wild horses.

Overnight accommodation is set with AP Plan at nomadic family yurt (Ger Camp).

Day 5

Drive back to Ulaanbaatar and do shopping

Today you will drive back to Ulaanbaatar and sightseeing to Zaisan and Bogd Khaan Palace. The evening will be free time for shopping.

Overnight accommodation is set with BB Plan at 3* hotel.

Day 6

Departure

Our team is saying goodbye as your journey to Mongolia comes to an end today. If you have more time you can do some shopping or sightseeing. Approximately 2 hours before your scheduled flight guide from Himalayan Wander walkers will take you to the airport. On your way home you'll have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful countries of Nepal, Bhutan, Mongolia, and Tibet.

The most important consideration for any tour is staying warm and dry, lightweight, breathable, moisture-winking under layers are highly recommended. Insulating layers and jackets are necessary. Comfortable hiking shoes, quality socks (quality socks are recommended), and head covering (insulating caps and brimmed caps designed to block sunlight) are essential. Outer layers should be made of waterproof, wind-blocking material such as Gore-Tex. Sunglasses and sun-block cream, drinking water bottles, torchlight, foot care items such as foot powder and Moleskin, insect repellent, and personal hygiene items are also necessary.
